Update 1/4/2019: Devastated that Bella Vista has stopped serving dinner. One of our favorite places, too. Old Review: My partner and I have enjoyed Bella Vista at least 60 times in the last 15 years, and we can always count on tasty Tex Mex flavors. The menu is extensive, but if you ask them, they can rustle up something not on the menu, like the chorizo and bean burrito I asked for one night. The salsa is fresh and bright, feisty enough for me but not so much that my pantywaist partner can't enjoy it. Service during the dinner hour is inconsistent. Marcus is usually doing the job by himself, so we cut him some slack. Go to the register when you get your check. These days we usually just go stand by the register even before we get the check, and Marcus gets to us right away. Bella Vista is a little seedy and not for everyone, but we think It's the best Tex-Mex in town. There's a line out the door during the lunch hour, so others must agree. The price is right, too. Dinner for two with a couple bottles of Negra Modelo runs $30.

Decent Mexican food and a great happy hour. $1.50 draft Bud and Bud Light, $2 bottles Bud and Bud Light M-F 4 pm to 7 pm. Service was great, pricing is great. The only downside were the chips with the free chips and salsa, they tasted like they were out of a bag and they weren't great quality. Salsa was spicy though! Will go back.

I live in the condos across the street and found this place about 5 years ago when we moved in. As a Mexican, I can proudly say this place has the best Mexican food! There are usually only 1-2 servers in the place but they work their butts off for you. Be forewarned this place is kind of a hole in the wall but if you want genuine Mexican food made by genuine Mexicans this is the place for you. I hope they never remodel. Denver needs these kind of restaurants to survive. I always see loads of white people at the chain Mexican restaurant next door and shake my head. They've got the real thing next door. Their prices are so cheap and I am assuming that's why they can't remodel their bathrooms. LOL! Yeah, the bathrooms suck but it's a small price to pay for the genuine food they serve. Oh yeah, great salsa made in the restaurant! Yum!

It was a Saturday night, we were the only ones in the seated area. The waiter was super friendly. Two of us ordered Fajitas, and it was mediocre (we haven't mastered how to make them in CO). The place reminds me of dives around college towns - drab decor and absolutely hideous restrooms. Felt bad that I even suggested this place to my friends. Thankfully none of them went to use the restrooms.
